Vibro-Pulse Cellulitis / Erysipelas Treatment

The following case studies represent different severity of cellulitis and the effects of Vibro-Pulse treatment.

Case Study 1 : Mrs P, 80 year old female.

Mrs P an 80 year old female with a history of deep vein thrombosis and hypertension was in hospital with severe cellulitis of the left leg her symptons had started a week earlier.

Erythema covered most of the lower leg which was also blistered and swollen circumference of the ankle 28.5cm, calf 43cm and thigh 58cm.

Mrs P commenced receiving intravenous antibiotics 500mg Flucloxacillin and 1.2gm Benzylpenicillin qds, plus Vibro-Pulse 3 x a day for 30 minutes with at least 2 hours between treatments.

By day 3 there was a significant improvement with over 50% erythema reduction and the bright redness of the infection significantly reduced, the leg oedema reduced to ankle 27cm, calf 41cm and thigh 57cm.

Mrs P subsequently fully recovered and was discharged by the end of day 5.

Case Study 2 : Mr B, 74 year old male.

Mr B a 74 year old male with a history of ischemic heart disease was admitted to hospital with cellulitis of both legs after symptons started 6 days earlier.

Erythema covered most of the lower leg which was also swollen and circumference of the ankle 26cm, calf 41cm and thigh 51cm.

Mr B commenced receiving intravenous antibiotics 500mg Flucloxacillin and 1.2gm Benzylpenicillin qds, plus Vibro-Pulse 3 x a day for 30 minutes with at least 2 hours between treatments, by day 5 there was a significant improvement with 100% erythema reduction, leg oedema reduction ankle 25cm, calf 39cm and thigh 49cm. Mr B was subsequently fully recovered by day 5.

Case Study 3 : Mr H, 63 year old male.

Mr H a 63 year old diabetic male with a history of ischemic heart disease, angina and DVT was admitted to hospital with extremely severe cellulitis of the right leg after symptons started 8 days earlier.

Mr H was prone to regular reoccurent episodes of severe cellulitis.

Erythema covered most of the lower leg which was also swollen, circumference of the calf 46m and thigh 52cm.

Mr H commenced receiving intravenous antibiotics 1gm Flucloxacillin ,1.2gm Benzylpenicillin and 500mg Metronidazole qds, plus Vibro-Pulse 3 x a day for 30 minutes with at least 2 hours between treatments, by day 7 there was a significant improvement with 75% erythema and redness infection reduction, leg oedema / swelling reduced significantly, calf 38cm and thigh 45cm.

Hospital staff commented that it had taken up to 3 months to see the same level of improvement from Mr H’s previous occurrences of Cellulitis.

Case Study 4 : Mr M, 38 year old male.

Mr M a 38 year old diabetic male was admitted to hospital with cellulitis of the left leg after symptons started 3 days earlier.

Erythema covered most of the lower leg which was also swollen, circumference of the ankle 29cm calf 49m and thigh 74cm.

Mr M commenced receiving oral antibiotics 500mg Flucloxacillin qds, plus Vibro-Pulse 3 x a day for 30 minutes with at least 2 hours between treatments, by the end of day 6 there was a significant improvement with 100% erythema and redness infection reduction, leg oedema / swelling reduced significantly, ankle 26cm calf 45cm and thigh 66cm.

Case Study 5 : Mrs M, 82 year old female.

Mrs M an 82 year old female with a history of anaemia, angina, ischaemic heart disease and rheumatoid arthritis was admitted to hospital with cellulitis to both legs, she also had mixed aetiology ulcers to the right leg which was one chosen to be treated with Vibro-Pulse.

Erythema covered most of the lower leg which was also swollen, circumference of the ankle 24cm calf 34m and thigh 43cm.

Mrs M commenced receiving intravenous antibiotics 1gm Flucloxacillin and 1.2gm Benzylpenicillin qds, plus Vibro-Pulse 3 x a day for 30 minutes with at least 2 hours between treatments.

By the end of day 5 there was a significant improvement with 100% erythema and redness infection reduction, leg oedema / swelling reduced, ankle 23cm calf 33cm and thigh 44cm.
